This full rowhouse renovation and two‑story rear addition in Washington DC’s Capitol Hill modernized the entire home while expanding its livable footprint. The project included a complete renovation of all fixtures and finishes, along with a new rear addition designed to enlarge and update the kitchen and dining areas — two of the most important spaces in a historic DC rowhouse.

The addition allowed for a more open, contemporary layout, improved natural light, and a better connection between the main living spaces. The renovation also introduced new bathroom finishes and a new laundry room, bringing modern convenience and functionality to the home.

The design direction leaned toward a clean contemporary aesthetic, refreshing the entire interior while respecting the architectural character typical of Capitol Hill rowhouses.

Although UNIK was not involved in this project, the renovation required careful coordination to integrate the new addition with the existing structure and ensure consistency across all updated finishes.

The result is a fully renewed rowhouse with expanded living space, modern amenities, and a cohesive contemporary look — a significant upgrade that enhances both daily living and long‑term value.
